Watermelon Margarita Mocktail on the Rocks (No Alcohol) - Refreshing, Bright, and Easy

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 cups ripe seedless watermelon, cubed
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4–5 limes)
  • 2–4 tablespoons agave syrup or simple syrup, to taste
  • 2–3 tablespoons orange juice or nonalcoholic orange liqueur-style syrup
  • Ice, for serving
  • Kosher salt or flaky sea salt, for the rim
  • Optional: Tajín or chili-lime seasoning, for a spicy-salty rim
  • Lime wedges and watermelon triangles, for garnish

Method

  1. Prep the rim: Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass. Dip in kosher salt or a 50/50 mix of salt and Tajín. Set aside.
  2. Blend the watermelon: Add watermelon cubes to a blender. Blend until smooth and juicy.
  3. Strain (optional but recommended): Pour the puree through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher to remove pulp and any seeds. This keeps the drink silky.
  4. Add citrus and sweetness: Stir in lime juice and orange juice. Start with 2 tablespoons of agave or simple syrup, then taste. Add more sweetener if your watermelon isn’t very sweet.
  5. Chill briefly: Pop the pitcher in the fridge for 10–15 minutes, or proceed right away if your ingredients are cold.
  6. Serve over ice: Fill salt-rimmed glasses with ice. Pour the mocktail over the ice.
  7. Garnish and enjoy: Add a lime wheel or wedge and a small watermelon triangle. Sip immediately.
