Ingredients
  

  • Freshly brewed strong coffee or espresso (1–2 shots or 1/2 cup strong coffee)
  • Milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy like oat, almond, or soy), about 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract (1/2–1 teaspoon)
  • Ground cinnamon (1/4–1/2 teaspoon), plus a pinch for garnish
  • Sweetener to taste: sugar, maple syrup, honey, or simple syrup
  • Optional: Whipped cream, cinnamon stick, pinch of nutmeg, or a splash of vanilla syrup

Method
 

  1. Brew the coffee: Make 1–2 shots of espresso or 1/2 cup strong coffee. Set aside.
  2. Warm the milk: In a small saucepan, add milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and your sweetener. Heat over medium until steaming, not boiling.
  3. Froth the milk: Whisk briskly, use a handheld frother, or shake the hot milk in a heat-safe jar for 20–30 seconds to create foam.
  4. Combine: Pour the coffee into a mug. Add the warm milk, holding back the foam with a spoon. Spoon the foam on top.
  5. Finish: Dust with a pinch of cinnamon. Add whipped cream if you like, then another light sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg.
  6. Taste and adjust: Add more sweetener or vanilla if desired. Enjoy right away.
