Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 chamomile tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose chamomile)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or unsweetened almond, oat, or coconut milk)
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Optional: pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg for dusting

Method

  1. Boil the water: Bring 1 cup of water to a gentle boil in a small pot or kettle.
  2. Steep the tea: Add chamomile tea bags to a mug and pour in the hot water. Steep for 5–7 minutes for full flavor. Remove tea bags or strain loose tea.
  3. Warm the milk: In a small saucepan, heat milk over medium-low until steaming but not boiling. Aim for 150–160°F if using a thermometer.
  4. Add vanilla and honey: Stir the vanilla into the milk. Whisk in honey until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  5. Froth the milk (optional): Use a milk frother, whisk, or tightly sealed jar to create light foam.
  6. Combine: Pour the warm milk into the chamomile tea, holding back the foam with a spoon. Spoon foam on top.
  7. Finish: Dust with a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg if you like. Sip while warm.
