Almond Butter and Strawberry Toast - A Simple, Feel-Good Breakfast

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 slices whole-grain or sourdough bread (choose sturdy bread so it holds the toppings)
  • 3–4 tablespoons almond butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 5–6 fresh strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt (optional, enhances flavor)
  • Optional toppings: chia seeds, hemp seeds, sliced almonds, cacao nibs, a squeeze of lemon, or a dusting of cinnamon

Method

  1. Toast the bread. Go for golden and crisp so it stands up to the almond butter without getting soggy.
  2. Spread the almond butter. While the toast is warm, spread an even layer from edge to edge for full coverage and better structure.
  3. Layer the strawberries. Arrange thin slices in overlapping rows so every bite gets fruit.
  4. Finish with extras. Drizzle honey or maple syrup if you like it sweeter, then add a tiny pinch of flaky salt to brighten the flavors.
  5. Optional crunch. Sprinkle chia or hemp seeds, or add a few sliced almonds for texture and extra nutrients.
  6. Serve right away. This toast is best enjoyed fresh while the bread is still crisp and the strawberries are juicy.
